Welcome to Spark Training!
Spark Training is a new partnership founded by Liz Lampard of Dynamo Training and Brad Prettie of Definitive Fitness.
Dynamo Training was founded in June 2009 and originally classes were located out of Studio 4 Athletics. As the Dynamo Family began to grow, the program was relocated to the Peterec’s gym on Fisgard Street. After spending a few years in this location, it was time to move into a more permanent and private facility which led us to the SuitsU building at 942 Fort St.
We are a small facility just off the street, through the door on the left in the alley that’s shared between us and Cafe Brio.
Throughout the winter months, we run our program exclusively indoors, but once the weather clears and it is lighter in the evenings, we move some of our daytime and evening classes outside so we can all enjoy the beauty of the west coast and benefit from the fresh air. Outdoor classes take place at a variety of locations including the Inner Harbour, Dallas Rd, Quadra Park (Crystal Pool) and St. Ann’s Academy and Havenwood Park.
Because we are a private facility, our program is only open to our members and only during class times. If you are interested in participating in a trial, please contact us and we will set you up to come to a class of your choice, or you can book yourself a spot online by visiting our online booking centre!
Train because you LOVE your body, not because you hate it!
Yours in health,
Liz, Brad, Brian and Mandi

What Clients Say
I met Liz and her team a little over 6 months ago. I originally joined from a Groupon. It gave me unlimited access to all classes for just over 3 weeks. I noticed within the first 2 weeks my body was changing and I was feeling so good. I re joined and 6 months later I am still active with the team. I have never looked or felt better in my life. I’m in the best shape I have ever been in and it shows big time. There is something for everyone at Spark and you feel like you are a part of a team and it makes you accountable. I am pumped walking out, it’s a wicked work out ! Hands down best Bootcamp and training I’ve tried. 5 stars all the way !!!
I have been going to Liz for just over a year, and I absolutley love it. Liz and her team of professionals are fantastic! Workouts are intense, but attention to detail is never sacrificed. Proper technique is always emphasized, which makes these classes great for people who are looking for a challenge, but also have chronic injuries (like me!). I love the variety in the classes too – TRX, yoga, kickboxing, circuit training – there is a lot to choose from! (And the training schedule is great too – there are a lot of options for busy people!)
I first came to Liz at the end of 2011 after I had returned from a huge (food laden!) wedding. Over the summer I had tailed off on my fitness classes because it became difficult for me to get to them, and I missed bootcamps greatly and felt myself sliding backward. I took advantage of a special Liz had on, and after the first class I was soaked, exhausted, a little scared even, and elated. I was pushed to and a bit past my limits, and knew I had found a fit. There are lots of things that make the classes special. The single thing I love the most (other than the energy, the sweat, the vibe from so many people who love to work out) is the accountability, but it is tempered with a fierce encouragement. You know that you are responsible for how hard you push yourself, and so many options are given to accomodate different levels of ability that complete beginners to the very fit can all attend classes together. I love this also, because for myself when I see super fit people pushing themselves as hard as I do myself, it gives me something to strive for. Although all different fitness levels are welcome and accomodated, the classes are not for those who want to “go through the motions” and then wonder why they don’t improve. It’s been a little over a year since I started attending classes, and I am definitely hooked (love the barefoot aspect also). I love the energy, the total body conditioning, the improvement in my running, and being at the best fitness level of my life at 43.
I heard about Liz through mutual friends about a year ago. A bit intimidated, I decided to try her kick a$$ boot camps because I figured I had nothing to loose…. Well actually I did.
Liz has inspired and motivated so many of her clients and gives her classes 110%. Because she gives it 110%, it makes me want to as well. We work hard, have fun and get sweaty! Her tough routines have left me cursing in class countless times, but I am always so thankful that I went once class is over.
I have noticeably more energy (even after a 6:30am class) and I now see the positive difference having good core strength makes. I used to have a lot of problems with a sore back/neck and shoulders, which usually gets triggered by long days of sitting at school and/or long hours serving.
The point is, Liz is tough, caring, attentive to injuries (even long after you are), motivating and inspirational. I have no hesitation to recommend her to anyone, those who lack fitness and exercise in their daily lives and those who are already committed to leading a healthy, active lifestyle. She has become more than a trainer to me, as she is my friend and truly cares in the well-being of her family, friends and clients. Thanks Liz!
